Knowing what I know now, what would I have done differently when I first started my accounting firm?
I was asked this by an accounting partner I was chatting with and 7 things came to mind that I definitely would have been super focussed on:
- Pick a niche industry and become the best
- Design a product offering of compliance and business development services to best solve the financial and business growth problems for that niche
- Hire a gun tax accountant at the very start
- Engage an outsourced compliance provider to scale the tax team
- Charge for everything
- Run more educational and entertainment clients events
- Invest in digital assets and strategies such as a high converting website, social advertising and video content
